"I already got you! I already got you!" Mikail yelled. He wrapped his arms around Ravian as far as they would go and sqeezed with all his little might as they rolled over in the dust.

Ravian laughed. "Okay, okay," he giggled. 'You got me really good!" He wriggled out of Mikail's grasp. "I guess dragon's aren't all that powerful after all," he said, sitting up and rubbing his face where the dirt made it itch. He suddenly remembered that they had important things to do. "Come on! We need to go see the practice and the soldiers!" he said, standing to his feet.

"Oh yeah!" Mikail scrambled to his feet, shaking off the dust covering him. "We should run, they way we'll get their faster. If we don't run, we'll be too late!" He said, using his best five-year-old logic.

"You're right!' He agreed. "I didnt't think about that!" He looked around this way and that hurriedly, trying to figure out which way to go. Mikail said he knew the way. "Which way?" he asked, trying to remember if they had been heading down this street or the other, because now they were at a sort of crossroads that was awfully quiet. He frowned, trying to piece together the roads and familiar landmarks.

Mikail pointed away from the wall. "That way, of course! The palace is always that way." The boy was hopeless with directions, but he seemed always about to find the palace from anywhere in the city. It was his favorite place in the whole city, other than Ravian's house. The boy held out his hand to his friend. "We have to hold on or you'll get lost," he said in attempt to take care of the older boy.

He took Mikail's hand. "I'll never get lost," he said, though to himself, he thought, Maybe is Mikail just scared of losing me. he would hold his hand nonetheless. It made no difference to him. He was pretty sure they would always be together. They were best friends after all.

"Good." Mikail smiled blissfully up at Ravian. "We should hurry, before the sun goes away. Come on!" the boy started jogging along the street, tugging at Ravian's hand as be bounced up and down, his gait more a skip than a run.

Ravian hurried along after him, letting Mikail tug him along. He doubted the sun would set so fast as all that. It was barely mid-day as it was. But Mikail probably did not know too much about time of day yet. He was at least excited to go see the soldiers.

Mikail skipped along next to Ravian, dodging in and out of traffic, winding his way through the city towards the palace.
