A small, peaceful area between the temple and the river.

FILIGREE Foi clung to one of the pillars at the back entrance of the temple, gazing out at the sparkling darkness of the Ellus River. The wind just barely ruffled his clothes and hair, and from far away he would have looked like the headmast of a ship, with his faraway eyes and serene-yet-anxious expression. He sank to his feet and studied a line of ants marching along the bottom of the pillar. He wasn't sure why he felt worried - things had been going as usual. His nightmares hadn't gotten worse lately, at least. But he couldn't shake off the feeling that something bad was going to happen. Maybe not soon, but definitely in his lifetime, and it was going to be big, too. He picked up an ant and let it crawl all over his finger, watching as it struggled to return to its family.
STAR Aren watched Foi play with the ants. He couldn't see his brothers expression from where he was standing but he could tell somethimg had been bugging Foi recently. "Everything okay?"
FILIGREE Foi glanced behind him when he heard his brother's voice, and he smiled a little, though the expression probably came off as more tired than happy. "I think so... I just feel a little anxious. Like something bad is going to happen." He tried to shrug away the feeling. "Maybe it's because this is my last year as a priest-in-training. The real thing sounds a little intense."
STAR "I know." Aren wished he were more sure of himself. He still felt like he didn't compleatly belong here. "We'll deal with things as they come, okay?"
FILIGREE "I suppose so." Foi carefully set down the ant he had been playing with and stood up from the pillar. "I'm a little bored. Is there anything going on in the streets today?"
STAR "The usual. I'm sure we could find something interesting if we looked." Aren said, looking out across the river.
FILIGREE "We can just walk around the market," Foi said, glancing at the direction of the main street. They probably couldn't buy anything, but at the very least they could see what was new.
STAR "Yes. Should I ask the head priest to let us out?" Aren asked.
FILIGREE "Sure," Foi said. He decided he'd wait by the pillar, just a little while longer, to look at the river some more while Aren went to ask.
