Eight acres of land with a three story house belong to the Markay family. There are horses to ride, the river nearby, and beautiful gardens with a central fountain that Lady Markay and her servants have worked on. The Markay's can afford luxury, as the master of the house is a well off merchant and his wife has been doing well with her jewelry business. Their only son resides here temporarily while his own house is being built.

LIGHTY Seph slipped off his dusty shoes before he entered the dining room and slipped on the sandels left for him near the doorway. The news his parents wished to share seemed very important just by looks alone. The plates being used were the fine china, the food all things he enjoyed eating, and a bottle of wine had been taken out. His parents entered the room and they sat together. Seph ate and wondered when his parents would tell him what was happening.
LIGHTY Lunch went quickly and Seph left the house in a daze. He was to be married. A nice, proper young lady, his parents had said, one that would make him a good wife. Seph knew he'd have to marry soon, knew an arranged marriage would likely happen, but it was still shocking. He had to hurry back to his store now. Lateness was not a good trait of a shop owner.
LIGHTY Seph had arrived late the night before and awoken early that morning. He lay in bed for extra hours. It was Saturday and he always went in late on Saturdays, and now he just rested. Sleep had eluded him. His thoughts turned about his fiance, and if she was kind, and if she was accepting of his work hours, and he wouldn't complain if she were a beauty as well. He wondered is she had dark hair or light hair and what color were her eyes? Seph lay in bed and stared up at the ceiling. He'd have to make bridal gifts soon, plus he had to finish the rocking chair that had been commissioned for an expecting mother. Again Seph's thoughts trailed back to his bride-to-be. He wondered if she wanted children. Seph did, either two or four, but he'd treat his wife well no matter her opinions. Respect, Seph thought, and trust, those are the most important things in a relationship.
