The center of the shopping district, the town square is known for it's beautiful fountain and lime washed stone walkways. The town square has entertainment every Saturday morning and Sunday afternoon. No matter if it's dancing, singing, instrumental music, jesters, or other types of entrainment, there are usually small crowds around the artisan in question. The shops surrounding the square are well off, while the stores that are farther away generally more modest.

LIGHTY Aurelia was in the town square where she usually danced. Her good friend set up the music and Aurelia let the music lead her movements. The blonde was well liked by the locals for her grace and beauty and the brunette playing the viol was talented with her quick movements. Most dances required a partner, one that Aurelia didn't have, and so she had to improvise some moves. That wasn't a huge problem because Aurelia was good at winging things. The blonde and brought one of her father's hats to catch coin in and as she danced a few people spared some change.
FILIGREE Foi walked along the streets, hands in his pockets, head low, eyes about. He wasn't sure what he was planning to do, but a simple exploration was nice, and it would get his thoughts in order. He wanted to get his mind off dreams and death for just a while, and the chatter of the streets helped with that.
LIGHTY accident, an almost collision, but it was avoided with a little bit of luck on his part and Aurelia's quick reflexes. She had danced too close to the crowd and this guy was walking by and he pushed through a few people and Aurelia had to spin very quickly out of his way. She did a few more flourishes and bold moves before slowing and curtsing for the audience. Her friend played a few extra notes and then the show ended. Aurelia wiped the sweat from her brow with a cloth she had brought and let her friend gather the coins. Aurelia felt like she owed the guy she had nearly tripped over an apology. "Sir?" Aurelia called, catching up to Foi who wasn't very far away, "I'm very sorry for almost crashing into you."
FILIGREE Foi blinked at the sound of the voice and looked up to see Aurelia in front of him. He recognized her as one of the faces he'd seen when he passed the music, and he blinked a few times, at first not understanding. He must have been too far in his thoughts earlier to realize whatever had happened. "Um... it's fine." A closer look at her made him notice her costume and accessories, and he glanced at where she had been performing. "Oh, you're the dancer. I didn't notice I'd walked so close to the music..."
STAR Aren caught up to his brother, glancing at the girl. "Is there a problem?" He asked, wondering what had happened. He didn't think Foi would start a conversation, and he wasn't buying anything. The girl looked like a performer. Maybe she wanted money?
LIGHTY Aurelia shook her head at the older boy. "No, I danced too close to the crowd and he moved forward and there was almost a problem. There wasn't though, but I wanted to apologize for almost tripping over him"
FILIGREE Foi smiled. That was nice of her, he thought. In a busy street like this, especially on the weekend, he didn't expect anyone to apologize, let alone notice that anything wrong had happened. He hadn't noticed, at least. The prospect of socializing with this girl, though, kind as she was, terrified him, and he glanced behind him as his brother arrived. "Hi, Aren."
STAR "Hey." Aren said genially. "You got away from me." He figured he should do the talking so he turned back to Aurelia. "That was very kind of you. Thank you."
LIGHTY Aurelia nodded. "No problem. I best get back to my friend, it was nice talking to you both." She turned and made her way back to her friend.
FILIGREE "The music was nice," Foi commented, playing the tune over in his head. Sometimes if he got a song stuck in his head enough, it would play as the background music for his dreams. Maybe a happy tune could turn his nightmares into something more pleasant. Something in a shop window caught his eye, and he drifted toward it, seeming to forget about his whereabouts again. "Oh. It's a wooden bear."
STAR Aren nodded and waved as Aurelia left. He followed Foi towards the shop, keeping and eye out to make sure nobody ran Foi over. He had to pull his bother back to keep him from walking into a hourse and rider.
FILIGREE Foi blinked in surprise as some hidden force pulled him back, and he glanced at the horse that passed by just in front of him. The rider looked so confident on his steed, and a dreamy glaze passed over Foi's face. "I wish we could travel outside of Valaire," he said, looking back to Aren again. "We've never really left the city."
STAR "We will some day." Aren said. As priests they would be able to move between governments more easily than less trustworthy tradsmen.
FILIGREE "They should let us out at least once before our Ceremony," Foi said, watching as the horse went out of sight. His eyes drifted back to the bear again. "We can go to the mountains, and then I can see a real bear."
STAR Aren wasn't sure that was a good idea but he smiled for Foi. "That will be exiting."
